Summary

Just one look is a mystery novel written by Harlan Coben in 2004. Like his usual style, the story hits the softest part of his heart. You just need to read a page and can’t stop it.

An ordinary picture had changed the life of a mother living in the suburbs. When Grace Lawson retrieved a newly developed roll of family photos, she found a photo that did not belong here.

It was taken at least 20 years ago. There are 5 people in the picture: four of whom Grace doesn’t know, and the other looks like her husband, Jack.

When Jack saw this picture, he denied that he was one of them. But on that night, when Grace was lying in bed waiting for him, he drove away in his mini van, with nothing explanation, and took the picture with him.

Grace did not know where he went or why he left. Grace took the responsibility of protecting the children. As the days passed, more and more mysteries arose in Grace’s mind.

She had doubt in herself, her marriage and Jack. At the same time, she found that other people were also looking for Jack and the photo – including a silent killer, who was fierce and brutal and would never stop until he reached his goal.

The police refused to help, and the neighbors and friends seemed to have their own schedules. She had to face the tragic and dark past alone, try to protect the children’s safety, and find the truth, hoping to make her husband return safely.

Just One Look is one of the Best Harlan Coben Books.
